The moment was instantly regognized by
John who suggested that Derek made some recordings whilst in New York, a session was arranged at Avatar studios in the first few days
of January 2002.
Initially sceptical about the idea of improvising
on Standards upon returning to London Derek became increasingly intrigued by the idea and suggested to John that he would like to go
into the studio again in London.
