The story. . . . . . . . . began in December 2001 when Derek
Bailey and I took a trip to New
York to find and hopefully
purchase a much desired
acoustic archtop guitar. The
plan was to visit the renowned
guitar and banjo emporium -
“Mandolin Bros” of Staten
Island who's catalogues Derek
regularly received by post.
Accompanied by our friends
Randy Hutton, Roberto
Rodriguez and kindly driven
by Susi Ibarra, it turned out to
be a wonderful day of
investigation, many guitars
were tried and tested. One
particular vintage guitar sang
